Christmas Party?

Incase anyone is wondering why there's been no news of a Christmas party this year then read here for the excuses reasons

'My proposal is on that thread as well but just incase you can't be arsed reading it...

I thought I would try my luck with a few potential places after work today and lo' and behold the very first place I tried seemed more than acceptable for such short notice. Tried others but the first 1 seemed the best.

Venue - The Hall (Scream Bar)
Where? - Very bottom of Sauchiehall St directly across from Driftwood, just down from the Garage
Cost - Either Free or £5 per head if we want a Christmas meal (more on that later)
When? - Any night next week except Monday or Friday as long as booked at least a few days in advance

It's a Scream bar so you're guaranteed reasonable drinks prices and good promos (plus Strawberry cider, what more could you ask for?)
We can either get the place for free or we can pay £5 per head and get a Christmas meal as well and if I heard correctly a free bottle of wine per every 4 people if we take the meal (I'm not fussed but it's easy to arrange if the majority would prefer the meal)
They have a video and audio jukebox so we can have as much control over the music as we like (altho not anime or J-music for obvious reasons)
Pool table
Being a studenty bar they won't object too much to us being loud/rowdy

We won't have a private area. Our area will be sectioned off but we will most likely have to share the actual bar area with other punters.
No under 18's. It's a shame but seeing as this has been messed up so badly by the people who were supposed to be in 'organising' things there's nothing that can be done about it at this late stage. Finding a place that will accept under 18's takes time, organisation and most importantly MONEY. We have none of these things right now so realisticly this is the best possible Christmas party we're going to be able to have and the 'committee' (or at least the 1's who actually hold any influence) aren't exactly straining themselves so I'm afraid it's take it or go without.

I was thinking of sticking with tradition and holding it on Thursday next week. By my count I know of at least 8 people who are interested so far and if I can get at least 10 more people to confirm that they'd definitely attend then I'll go ahead and book it on Sunday evening so if you can do this then please post saying so and also whether you'd prefer to pay £5 for the meal or to forget the meal and not pay anything.

I am moving to Glasgow in early August. I am not a student (though I just finished a history bachelor), and this can't get student housing. I am planning to work. I haven't got a job just yet, but my savings should cover a few months of rent, so there's no need to worry about the economical side of it. I am safe.

Vital facts:
My name is Marthe Glad. 21 years old. Loves literature, History, Music (most genres), Anime, Roleplaying, Larping, I am a socialist, practices Karate, I draw alot and I don't smoke. I am also vegetarian.

I need somewhere to live. As cheap as possible, and together with someone else. I am used to living with lots of people, sharing everything. If anyone are in need of a flatmate, send me a mail (or a livejournal comment) so that we can communicate and see if we get along.

[I am also looking for a job, an Attac or other similar political group, and a Karate club.]

Xposted from Glasweigans and a few other communities. I know that this is a weird place to put this, but seeing as I would love to share a place with some fellow anime buffs, I thought it was worth a shot.
